The basic story follows Alan Wake getting lost in another dimension for 13 long years. He tried to escape that dimension by writing a story that involved Saga Anderson, who is a special agent in the FBI.

As we know, Saga Anderson is a secret Agent of the FBI, so she is given some of the detective elements as well in this game. When the player is playing as Saga, she can always go to the place called “Mind Place,” which is a place with no trace of enemies.

This place is a visual representation of Sage’s thoughts. In Mind Place, the secret agent Saga Anderson can connect the cues she collected to solve the mystery of that haunted place and bizarre adventure. She can also profile some characters to gather clues about the main mystery.

If we play as Alan, we will see that he also gets a separate room called “Writers Room” where Alan can write the novel, and also the outline of that novel will be accessed only in this room for him.

He also has access to changing that plot somehow, and it will change the surroundings and what happens to him to some extent in this game. Either that is Mind Place or Writer’s Room, they both can’t change or change the actions going on in the outside world.
