Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is finally here. It has a real-time strategic action and role-playing system. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is developed and published by Square Enix. Upon this 3rd release, it received both praise and approval from critics.

It is the 3rd sequel of the original game which was released in 1997. The second sequel of the Final Fantasy 7 remake was released in 2020. After four years the new sequel of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is finally available to PlayStation 5 on 29th February 2024.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Plot and Gameplay

Plot

The game starts with a destruction scene where the journey of the main players takes place. There is a huge destruction in the Shinra Electric Power Company. It controls the Midgar.

Sephiroth, who was the main antagonist of the previous sequel was thought dead but was alive and sought revenge by summoning the meteor to destroy the planet. The villain wants to obtain the lifestream power to attain his godhood.

Gameplay

Players control Cloud Strife initially but they can choose any among the main nine protagonists in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Players can play these nine main characters in the game, including Zack, Sephiroth, and Aerith, and after unlocking Cait Sith and Yuffie which will appear later in that journey.

We can also play with Barret, Tifa, and Red 13. Red 13 is not a pet. The game has real-time exploration and adventure. With real-time combat. It is an open-world adventure and yes you heard it right it was a complicated topic for a very long time.

The markers for objectives will appear over the head display. They appear for the main and side quests to finish with respect to their distances from the overworld party.

The players as in other games can walk as well as ride. The players can ride the creatures like Chocobos. Chocobo is a fictionalized creature like a grownup hen-like bird. It has yellow-colored wings and it was also used in previous Final Fantasy games. There are some faster and special Chocobos as well.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has an active time melee combat which is filled with action and drama and also Active time Battles. ATB system allows the players to switch from one player to another from their own party in battle.

There are both magical moves and spells and also dangerous weapons. Along with weapons and spells, there’s a physical fight as well because something has to work.

There are praise-worthy synergized mechanics that allow the game to pause when selecting the weapons for offense in between the combat or something for the defense. The synergized system was first introduced in the DLC and not the original game itself.

Romance

This game has both face cards and it seems like the romance is paying off well for the players. Maybe it’s because of the personalities and beautiful character buildup of this game. The men as well as women are well made and well elaborated by the game.

Conclusion

After Cloud Strife, Barret and Tifa are the most worthy to be chosen to play. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is a praiseworthy and critic-friendly RPG. The game in my opinion has a great capacity to win some major awards in The Game Awards.
